BBQ Cook-off Fundraiser Sanctioned by the Whole Hog BBQ Series! Whole Hog Competition Prizes: 1st Place: $600 + Award, 2nd Place: $400 + Award, 3rd Place: $300 + Award

Backyard BBQ Teams

Register your Backyard Cook Team at the link below!

Our Backyard teams will compete for the People's Choice Award where the public will vote for your BBQ. $1=1 vote. All proceeds go towards our building projects! Our Backyard BBQ Teams will also be judged (separate from the Whole Hog Competition) for the Best BBQ!

Now accepting vendor applications! Applications will be reviewed on a first come first served basis. We are accepting 20 craft vendors. Not accepting Scentsy, Norwex, or similar consultant businesses. Not accepting any type of food vendors.

FAQs

  • How much are tickets? Ages 12+: $12.00 Ages 6-11: $8.00 Ages 5 & under: FREE

  • Are dogs allowed? No, dogs are not allowed at Camp Cale unless they are leashed/harnessed service dogs.

  • Will there be activities for kids? Yes, our commons area (GaGa ball, tetherball, slide, & more) will be open! This year we will have a Kids Zone with inflatables!

  • How do I vote for People’s Choice BBQ? Follow the signs and walk around to all the Backyard BBQ tents. Try all the bbq you want then place your vote ($1=1 vote) in the designated jar at the tent of your favorite bbq!

  • How do I get food if I can’t walk to the tents? We will have a line set up underneath the pavilion for sides and bbq for those who can not walk to the bbq tents.

  • Can I get BBQ to go? We will not be doing to go plates this year, but we will have BBQ for sale by the pound at the gate and in Old Joe’s Snack Shop. Extra sides (16oz) may also be available for purchase in the snack shop.

  • What’s the difference between Whole Hog BBQ Teams and Backyard BBQ Teams? Our Whole Hog BBQ teams are competing in a sanctioned event, the Whole Hog Barbecue Series by the NC Pork Council. Winners may be eligible to compete in the Whole Hog Barbecue Championship Cook-off. Backyard BBQ Teams compete for the People’s Choice Award, where the public votes on their BBQ. Backyard BBQ Teams will also be judged (separate from the Whole Hog Competition) for the Best BBQ.
